Clinical Sports Science Lab
The
program is designed in a modular format to best serve the individual
needs of respective clients and to limit unnecessary cost and testing.
Each activity deemed necessary for an individual will be carried
out in a clinically designed, structured environment utilizing physiological
monitoring of specific body metabolism, respiratory function and
muscular-skeletal function. In addition, visual and graphic digitalized
recordings will be maintained for client teaching, progress reporting
and research purposes. These programs will be directed and supervised
by Physicians, Podiatrists, and Chiropractic consultants.
The program provides clients with:
Biomechanical Assessment
- Biomechanical Assessment: This
clinical module consists of a physical examination, observation,
three dimensional video, digital and graphic analysis are used
to evaluate body motions and identify medical limitations or performance
problems during specific activities such as running, swimming,
cycling, golf and tennis using specialized testing equipment.
The digital analysis will demonstrate precise movements of the
various joint movements that the unaided eye cannot perceive.
With this total analysis, rehabilitation or exercise training
goals can be established to enhance recovery, athletic performance
and prevent injury.
- Cycle Analysis: Following the
clinical assessment, recommendations will be made to improve performance
and prevent injury by performance modifications by the rider.
This computer-analyzed program will be offered in a stationary
mode as well as in real time on designated courses.
- Comprehensive Motion Analysis:
The biomechanical clinical assessment, including a video and graphic
analysis, will permit staff to provide specific recommendations
to improve athletic performance while reducing the risk of injury.
Each of these clinical modules provides the client
with visual, graphic and digital documentation of current performance
and desired goals. This dynamic profiling will assist in the on-going
clinical evaluation of the individual’s kinesiology, physiology
and its relationship to sports performance, sports related injury
prevention and lifestyle influences.
Physiological Testing
The lab’s physiological testing profile can provide
athletes of all ages and levels of sophistication a better understanding
of their level of fitness and how this relates to their athletic
performance and skills. As with the biomechanical clinical assessment,
this physiological testing will provide recommendations on training
and lifestyle to improve athletic performance.
Neuropsychological
and Performance Counseling
Both clinical and performance treatments
provide the individual client with assistance in behavioral and
thought changes which focus on performance enhancement.
